Principal’s Message   Thank you in advance for your interest in Sacred Heart Parish School!  I hope you will browse through our web site and learn more about us.   The Sisters of Mercy of Omaha first arrived in Red Bluff in 1881, opening the first Catholic elementary school in 1882.  The school was first named Mercy Academy and was initially located across the street from Sacred Heart Church.  In 1965, Mercy Academy Grammar School, as it was then known, officially became a part of the Dioceses of Sacramento and was then relocated, as Sacred Heart Parish School, to our current location on Monroe Street.  We currently serve approximately 200 children preschool through eighth grades.   The school currently houses a school office, library, computer lab, faculty lounge and nine classrooms.  The Parish Hall is located on the same property and serves as a gym and multipurpose room for the school and preschool.  We have recently restarted a vibrant Parent Club, added a new marquis, basketball courts, and all new playground equipment!  The Preschool is located adjacent to the main building, and has implemented the State of California Desired Results Project for three and four year old preschoolers in an effort to assure kindergarten readiness.   Sacred Heart Parish School is one of the few institutions that not only “allows” God in the classroom, but invites His presence.  We also follow rigorous Diocesan Curriculum Standards that exceed the California State Standards.  Because we can successfully educate a child for half the amount that the public schools spend, and teach Catholic values at the same time, it becomes easy to see that we are an invaluable asset to the community!   I hope you enjoy your time visiting our web site.  The parent is the primary educator, and we at Sacred Heart look forward to working with families while fostering the growth of the total person.  Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or would like additional information.   Sincerely yours,   Terri Sobieralski, Principal   tsobieralski@sacredheartparishschool.org  mailto:tsobieralski@sacredheartparishschool.orgshapeimage_3_link_0
